    Introduction

    Welcome to Garner Chemist. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our pharmacy services, website, and any related services we provide. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

    Garner Chemist is a community pharmacy registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) under registration number 2068026. Our Superintendent Pharmacist is Poonam Pankhania.

    We are located at 160 Pinner Road, Harrow HA1 4JJ, and provide both NHS and private pharmacy services to our community.

    Our Services

    We provide the following pharmacy services:

    NHS Services

    • Dispensing of NHS prescriptions
    • NHS Pharmacy First Service for minor ailments
    • NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccinations
    • New Medicine Service (NMS)
    • Medicines Use Reviews (MUR)
    • Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
    • Repeat prescription management

    Private Services

    • Travel health consultations and vaccinations
    • Ear wax removal (microsuction)
    • Private prescriptions
    • Health checks and screening
    • Over-the-counter medicines and health products

    Prescription Services

    NHS Prescriptions

    • NHS prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with NHS England guidelines
    • Prescription charges apply unless you are exempt (current charge: £9.90 per item as of 2024)
    • You must provide valid exemption evidence if claiming free prescriptions
    • NHS prescription charges are subject to change by the government
    • We participate in the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) for nominated pharmacies

    Private Prescriptions

    • Private prescriptions are charged at the cost of the medication plus a dispensing fee
    • Prices will be confirmed before dispensing
    • We reserve the right to refuse to dispense a private prescription if we have concerns about its validity

    Prescription Collection

    • Prescriptions should be collected within 28 days of notification
    • Uncollected prescriptions may be returned to stock after 28 days
    • We may contact you if your prescription remains uncollected

    Appointments and Bookings

    • Booking confirmation: All appointments are subject to confirmation. We will contact you to confirm your booking.
    • Cancellation policy: Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
    • Late arrivals: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
    • No-shows: Repeated no-shows may affect your ability to book future appointments.
    • Private service deposits: Some private services may require a deposit at the time of booking, which may be non-refundable for late cancellations.

    Payment Terms

    • Payment is required at the time of service for private services and prescription charges
    • We accept cash, debit cards, and major credit cards
    • Contactless payment is available for transactions up to the current limit
    • All prices include VAT where applicable
    • Prices for private services are displayed in our pharmacy and on our website
    • We reserve the right to change prices without prior notice

    Professional Standards

    We are committed to providing safe, effective, and professional pharmacy services:

    • All pharmacy services are provided by qualified and registered pharmacy professionals
    • We adhere to the standards set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
    • We follow NHS contractual requirements for NHS services
    • We maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance
    • Our pharmacists have the professional right to refuse to supply medicines if they believe it is not in the patient's best interest

    Your Responsibilities

    When using our services, you agree to:

    • Provide accurate and complete information about your health, medications, and allergies
    • Inform us of any changes to your health or medications
    • Present valid identification when required (e.g., for controlled drugs)
    • Provide valid exemption evidence if claiming free NHS prescriptions
    • Treat our staff with respect and courtesy
    • Follow the advice and instructions provided by our pharmacy team
    • Store and use medications as directed
    • Return unused or expired medications to us for safe disposal

    Limitation of Liability

    • We provide our services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with professional standards
    • We are not liable for any adverse effects resulting from the proper use of medications as prescribed
    • We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to follow our advice or medication instructions
    • Our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the service provided
    • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law

    Complaints Procedure

    We are committed to providing excellent service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please let us know so we can address your concerns.

    Step 1: Speak to a member of our pharmacy team or the pharmacist on duty.

    Step 2: If the issue is not resolved, please submit a written complaint to our Superintendent Pharmacist.

    Step 3: If you remain dissatisfied, you can escalate your complaint to:

    • Pharmacy regulation: General Pharmaceutical Council (www.pharmacyregulation.org)
